My companies PR department finally decides to get into video editing to promote our organization which means they need to seriously beef up their PCs since there only good for gen office work. So I order all the parts from CC to make a killer video editing PC as well as a few upgrades for their other machines, in all spent around the 3K mark.

No problems with placing the order I even got a confirmation call on the high end video editing card which was nice. Got my box roughly a week later a few days earlier than I expected but that was a plus.

Now this is where things go south, the Asus board I ordered (P9X79 Pro) is missing over half the accessories in the box making me believe that it’s an open box which does not please me at all since we paid for a full retail box and no notice was given that it was an open box item. Of course I had to follow the entire RMA process but opted to return the MB to the closest CC since its pretty near to my work place. That’s where the tech tells me it’s not an open box but a refurb (As far as I'm concerned refurbs are on the same level as trash and won’t touch them at all) that you can tell by Asus placing a new S/N sticker over the boxes original one and the missing accessories is typical of a refurb. He did comment that I should not have been shipped it in the first place and the rest went pretty smoothly.

Since this was obviously a shipping error I was expecting this to go through rather quickly but a week goes by and no news at all so I send them an email to the RMA department asking for an update which I get a pretty speedy reply telling me they are having one transferred from another store and they would send me a tracking number in a day or two. It’s now been another week since then (2 weeks now) with no news and no tracking number and the email I sent yesterday has gone unanswered and all this time my PR department asking when they will get the new machine to start their projects on.

For a shipping error this turnaround is absurd and in the meantime all the other components for that pc have gone past their 7 or 14 day return policy just sitting on my work bench, god forbid any of those have problems cause at this point I have a feeling CC would tell me I would have to RMA them to the manufacturer since its past their store policy (Mind you at this point almost thinking that would be faster).

Hi All:

On a previous Netgear product purchase there was a mail in rebate for $15.00. Netgear issues a Visa Debit Card (which is actually used as a credit card when you make a future purchase of any kind). This issued card is ready to use, no pre-authorization required. On 2 separate occasions I tried to use this card at Canada Computer on College Street and both times the card was DENIED. I checked the rebate centre at the Netgear website and my card is listed as valid and there is $15.00 available to use.

Has anyone ever tried to use one of these? Is there anything special that a cashier must do at time of purchase?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

So, I made a new partition because my Windows 7 failed. I installed Windows on the new partition and planned to move all my files from the non-working partition to the new one, then delete everything in the other partition so I could merge both partitions to create 1 large 360GB (yes that is the size of my HDD). But, whenever I try to delete the files I get this error: I googled it and I tried the user edit but it just replaces TrustedInstaller to whatever I changed it to. Can anyone help me?
