RE: Word 2007 files
How large is your Word .docx file? If it's only a few bytes long, there's not going to be any information in it and you shouldn't expect to recover anything from it.
I assume you created the file in Word 2007. You could try finding someone with Word 2003 who has the 2007 compatibility pack installed and see if Word 2003 can read the file.
You could also try the Word Viewer designed for people who don't have Word but need to be able to open Word documents.
Alternatively, you could download and install OpenOffice.org v3.1 - it can read Word 2007 documents and may be able to read the contents of your file where the Microsoft applications couldn't. Good luck!3.
If for some reason the built-in repair feature of Word does not work, you can also download a demo version of .docx recovery tool office 2007 called "Word Recovery Toolbox" from here: http://www.oemailrecovery.com/word_repair.html

Compatibility pack (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/H...1033.aspx)
Word Viewer from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en
Here's something to look at:

Hope this helps.

Warm regards!
