Thats a LGA 2011 (note, NOT v3) socket motherboard.

Most likely you will need to find a Supermicro or Asus/ASRock server or high end workstation board.

Also note almost all of these boards are E-ATX or SSI-EEB (same size as E-ATX but the screw mounts are different, you will have to modify an E-ATX case). There is one standard ATX dual 2011 board out there, it uses narrow ILM coolers though so be aware of that as well.

Thanks for the info.

I want to build this myself as a project. I've never build before and I'm semi technical. I understand the componants but not in great details. Can you recommend certain models of Supermicro and/or Asus/ASRock MOBO please.

I want at least 4 USB (3.0), on board audio (if possible). Will probably put 64GB of mem on there.

This is will used for 3D rendering (MAYA and 3DS Max) and 3D animation.

Thanks,

Marc

I can't give you any specific recommendations, just guidelines as it all depends on whats on ebay/kijiji and sometimes new in stock at n e w e g g . c a

Just remember to get the correct socket (2011, NOT 2011 v3) and look at cooler and case compatibility. You may also need a second 8 pin CPU power connector.

Reddit.com/r/homelab has information about this, try searching around there as well.
