RE: Internet Issues/ New Router
I've personally had excellent experience with the Asus RT series routers. You could get a AC1750 series with triple antennas for $179.99, should provide excellent coverage. We're using the older Asus N300 series at the store and the WiFi coverage is amazing!

My rig:
Intel Core i7-4790k
Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3
Patriot Viper 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1866MHz
Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB

1TB Seagate Desktop (Games)
2TB WD Green (Storage)

A TP-Link or Asus in that budget will work well.

Sure it does, and a faster processor in the router will help with that. In your budget you won't have a problem with this. Someone looking at cheap routers under $50-60 and wanting to do torrenting and streaming at the same time is going to run into issues.

My older Asus N66U can handle multiple streams/torrenting/gaming without issue, my next router will probably be the TP-Link Archer C5400.
