Wink New Pr0n Setup - (Jonnie G) - Skylake 2016
Hey all,

I finally got around to getting my butt in gear and getting all the parts for my Skylake 2016 build. I couldn't wait any longer and it had to be done. So I finally got all the parts, got licked, sat down and put it all together. Tried to do the cable management and everything as neat as possible using twist ties and cable ties. Everything seems to be working and performing well at the moment.

I haven't had a chance to O/C the processor yet, but I managed to run the Intel XMP 2.0 profile on the RAM modules and clock them to the rated 3000MHz. I think I will use the 1-touch Gigabyte O/C and see what profiles the mobo gives me since it creates a stable O/C for the 6600k without me having to tweak voltages and all that crap on my own. So, I will be doing some testing & seeing what the board can do to give me a stable Windows O/C. I'm still trying to figure my way around the features of this board. Maybe I will read the manual, lol.

BTW, I f-ed up by purchasing a video card back in March and not paying attention to the news about the Pascal & Polaris release dates. I ended up with a R9 380 and looks like Nvidia is now shooting out GTX 1080 and 1070 series cards and AMD is releasing a RX 480 card thats supposed to be as good as the 970 with an MSRP of $199 USD. If the benches are as good as they say I might swap out the card, if the price point is good.

Also, currently in the process of adding in the Samsung 950 PRO M.2 SSD for boot, but will probably do that in a month before the free W10 upgrade runs out and use that for boot.

I guess I will have to update my sig in the near future, lol. If you have any questions or comments let me know.

Here are the specs as follows:

Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0) Motherboard
Intel Core i5-6600K Quad-Core Processor LGA1151, 3.5Ghz, 6MB L3 Cache, 14nm
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Direct Heat Pipe CPU Cooler R2
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000
Sapphire Radeon NITRO R9 380 4GB GDDR5
- 1010 MHz Clock, 5800 MHz Memory
- PCI-Express 3.0, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort
Seasonic SS-760XP2 ATX 12V/EPS 12V, 760W, 80 PLUS PLATINUM Full Modular
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5" 6Gb/s (SSD) - (boot)
Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" 6Gb/s (SSD) - (steam & games)
Samsung 850 EVO 1TB 2.5" 6Gb/s (SSD) - (porn & pr0n & hd pr0n)
WD Black 1TB HDD 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache - (downloads & junk)
LG (WH16NS40) Internal 16x Blu-ray Writer, OEM - Black, SATA, M-DISC, BDXL
VANTEC UGT-IH203 2-Port USB 3.0 Front Panel (extra 2x USB 3.0 front)
3 x 120mm LED Case Fans (BLUE LED & PURPLE LED Front, GREEN LED, Back)
Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid Tower

This build could have not been completed without the assistance of getting licked for Bungz!! Tongue

Nerds for Life !!!

Hey, you should be happy ... every bit of hardware in this build was acquired from CC, minus the RAM. That was the only thing you didn't carry and that's because I bought 100% QVL RAM for my motherboard that only the EGGMAN carries.
