First Build Advice
Hey guys, I am fairly new to PC gaming, and I have been trying to put together my first build, with a budget of $650 dollars. Here's some of the spec's I have managed to put together.

(I've found almost all of the parts on Canadian websites.)

Some feedback would be appreciated. I plan to play games like Portal 2, CSGO, Warcraft, LOL and the occasional larger game like Fallout 4. Thanks.

RE: First Build Advice
The build looks fairly decent, but you need a better video card in this build, because a Radeon 7850 does not meet the minimum requirements for Fallout 4 (A Radeon 7870 2GB is the bare minimum requirement, so I would assume it won't run terribly well on such an older card). The 7850 is also at the very limit of Radeon cards that would support Microsoft's DirectX 12, so it's really edging it there because a 7850 is already a few years old in technology. Maybe something more along the lines of a Radeon R7 370 at least (we carry those starting at about $205).

Also, I'd recommend to swap Windows 8 for Windows 10 to get DirectX 12 support as more games in the future will support this technology. This is not available on Windows 8. DirectX 12 significantly improves communication performance between the video card and CPU for games that support it. Some more recent games like Gears of War Ultimate Edition are only available on Windows 10 as well.

In short:
Put in a better video card for this build and Windows 10 is the recommended OS to use, and then you should be good to have some decent gaming!

My thoughts, views, and opinions do not reflect that of Canada Computers and are solely my own.

My rig:
Intel Core i7-4790k
Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3
Patriot Viper 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1866MHz
Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB
120GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD (OS)
1TB Seagate Desktop (Games)
2TB WD Green (Storage)

RE: First Build Advice
Yah, I planned to use the free upgrade to windows 10, as I strongly dislike windows 8.
I'll do some research on video cards if thasts what I need. Thanks!
