Don't offer price match if you won't honor it.

Don't offer price match if you won't honor it.
I was in the Kanata location today and I tried to price match the sapphire 7970 which at the time was in stock at *** for 569.99. I was actually dealing with the guy that had manager on his tag.

He told me the part number is not the same "that one comes with a free game" later when I got home I checked....
both websites for the sapphire and it's the exact same part number...

Also, then I asked about the gigabyte which was 579.99 in stock as well at **** he looks it up then says "the best we can do is 609.99" to which I replied that's the exact same price you have it listed for, that is not price matching at all. There was an open box one which was 5% off which comes to exactly 579.... seems a little odd an open box goes exactly to that price that I tried to price match but yet it's "too low" to price match....

I don't understand why you have a price match policy if your managers are even going to blatantly ignore it.

After looking here seems it's no surprise this happened seems normal practice for CC...

The thing is that they pay more than everyone else for the part, my GTX570 was cheaper at ****** than what they pay ASUS for one of them.
If he had pricematch it like the policy said, the guy would have lost money.

Asus GTX570 @850/1700/4000MHz 1001mV

Yes, they know what they paid for the item, the ASUS GTX570 was 354.99$ on ****** and CC paid 369 and something for it.

RE: Don't offer price match if you won't honor it.
lying that it's a different part number for the sapphire card when both websites have the part number clearly listed.

they aren't going to sell an open box for $50 below cost if they don't have to open box was 579, which also happens to be the same price I was trying to price match the gigabyte card to.

he said lowest he can go is the exact list price they have advertised, I don't think so there is no way they are making $0 off of it when others are selling it for $50 less.

Then they really shouldn't say they're going to match competitor's prices, should they?

If you do finally argue with them enough to price match it then they'll start making up all these costs and adding on shipping so if someone else had it for $50 less you might get it for $0.50 less if you're lucky.

Intel i5 3570k@4.5ghz

Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz (2x4gb)

Corsair F60 SSD
Corsair 600T
Corsair H100 Push/Pull
Western Digital Caviar Black 500gb
Seagate Barracuda 3TB HDD

the problem is that the product manager got lazy and entered $609.99 for every price level. at least, that was the case for the Gigabyte HD 7970. you can't expect your employees to do a proper price match when the information given is incorrect.

Intel i7 2600K @ 4.5Ghz
16GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z 1600Mhz
Asrock P67 Fatal1ty Professional
MSI HD 7970 Lightning @ 1125/1600 MHz
Crucial M4 256GB SSD
3x Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200.12 HDDs (RAID0)
Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB HDD
Silverstone Fortress FT02
